Create a gift batch, choosing the template that most closely matches the gifts you are entering
Good to Know!
- Order of the fields in the batch matters, as some of them will default as long as they are placed to the right of the field they depend on data for (for example, you have to enter the amount of the gift before the solicitor amount will default, the application should be to the left of the appeal and designation, etc)
- There is a constituent window that appears in batch on the bottom left. If you open this window you can see details on the selected constituent. We have also added a number of alerts that appear as yellow notifications, these include things like if this person’s spouse has an open pledge so this could be a pledge payment, etc.

- You can add attributes to batch – attributes that allow only one value will appear in the batch row, attribute that can be multi-valued require a click into the cell to view or add data
- There is no way to insert new rows between rows that have been already entered
- Within batch you can only view the fund number, not the fund name, we are looking into workarounds for this
- The Acknowledgee field is only used if you manually assign a letter code in batch. This field will default on commit, but doesn’t default within the batch while you are entering
- Appeal is required. You can access a list of Appeals sent to the Constituent (and related Constituents) while in a batch. See this entry for details.
- Manually added notes within batch will cause those transactions to be kicked out to an exception batch, but don’t generate a warning
- MGB recommends defaulting the Pledge pay type to None, this can be done when setting up the batch template
- If using Chrome and you zoom into a batch template, sometimes the column headers may not line up. CTRL 0 resolves the issue.
- The Batch audit history list builder shows the audit table for batch fields such as status and owner. (It does not show changes to the rows in the batch.)
- Prospect manager can be displayed in each row.
