Individual and organizational relationships for this constituent
Good to Know!
- Watch for filters! All former relationships are removed from the view by default
- Check the group member tab for household and committee relationships
- When you enter a relationships the most commonly used reciprocal relationship will default, but you can change it if necessary
- Soft Credit Exclusions – in some cases couples want to keep their giving separate. In RE we added a relationship attribute “Soft Credit Exclusions”. In CRM we are unchecking the recognition credit checkboxes and adding a comment to the relationship. Additionally we are adding a “Soft Credit Exclusion” attribute to each spouse to assist in validation scripts.
- Groups that this constituent is a member of appear on the Group Member tab. If a constituent is related to the group as a whole, for example a development team member who staffs a group, that would appear on the Relationships tab
- Employment History: Employment relationships will also appear in the employment history section if key data like position is entered in the relationship. The relationship grouping shows the relationship between an employee and employer. The Employment History area shows detail on employment relationships, and allows you to show movement within a company
- If you add a new employer, CRM will add an end date to any existing employment
- Divorce – Look up either spouse, and choose “Remove Spouse” from the task menu (explorer bar) on the left. This will allow you to change the relationship AND dissolve the household at the same time. If you just change the relationship, the household relationship will not change automatically.
- The Committees tab shows only active committee memberships
- Conversion notes:
- All relationships are reciprocal in CRM. If you had relationships that were NOT reciprocal in RE you will find they are reciprocal now; in some cases this results in multiple relationship rows
- Only employees with data in the RE Position field appear in the employment history area. [We initially moved all employment here but that was changed for TR2]
- Duplicate relationships do not convert (same person/same type/overlapping dates)
- Non-constituent relationships add to the overall relationship counts – in RE they only exist on one side, in CRM they become reciprocal
