Household, group and committee relationships
Good to Know!
- Households consist of 2 living individuals related with the spouse/spouse or domestic partner/domestic partner relationship codes; households are dissolved when one spouse is deceased or the couple divorce.
- No data should be entered on the household, it serves as a way to display aggregated data for the household members.
- Groups can be created for constituents who wish to give or be solicited together, for example and extended family
- Committees are a kind of group, we are using these for internal boards and committees. External boards, like the Board of Gillette, are kept in relationships
- Groups that this constituent is a member of appear on the Group Member tab. If a constituent is related to the group as a whole, for example a development team member who staffs a group, that would appear on the Relationships tab
- Be sure that spouses are unlinked before re-marrying, otherwise you get a ghostly spouse who won’t leave household!
- Conversion Notes:
- Primary address phone and email were copied from the primary household member to the household
- Households were created for related constituents with the isspouse checkbox checked. Household names, the ones that appear in the header, are set to custom during conversion.
- The head of household in RE became the primary member of the household in Atlas
