Recognition Program Setup

Video by Mitch describing the process can be found here   \\Cifs2\devall$\Applications Team\AtlasMeetingVideo

  1. Create the program, recognition levels, and the selection criteria.  Many affiliates count commitments and additionally count pledge payments made in a year different from the year of the original pledge.  to do this you would select transaction types when creating the program, and additionally add a query.  The intersection of the selected transaction types and the query is what will be used to calculate the program level.  Query should look like:

  1. create a process and include the recognition programs you want to run on the same schedule
  2. add the process to a queue, and ensure the queue is scheduled appropriately
  3. if you make a mistake, we have a global change to delete the recognition program so you can start again

We customized the OOB recognition programs to recalculate downward adjustments to revenue, but it will also handle changes to the recognition levels, i.e., if there are any changes to the levels for the program, all constituents are processed.  Note that if you make changes to the criteria, but the constituent has no new or changed transactions since the last run, and they aren’t already in the recognition program, they won’t be added to the program unless the levels change or you reprocess the entire recognition program with the Reprocess program parameter.

From the perspective of the Recognition node, there isn’t such a thing as Lapsed because it exists for each instance of Recognition rather than their overall Recognition status. So – the only possible scenarios, from that perspective are:

Active = They were recognized at this point in time at this level

Dropped = They were dropped from being recognized (only applies to Lifetime giving)

Pending = They’ve been added for recognition but it requires validation – probably whether they want to decline a benefit

Inactive (Merge) = They were merged with another record and had redundant Recognition Programs

If you were a “Golden Platinum” donor in 2017 and then didn’t give in 2018, you would have an “Active” entry for 2017 and no entry for 2018.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you are creating a fiscal year recognition program that will go prior to FY2000, you will need to add additional values to the Atlas fiscal year table.  As a start for go-live we have added fiscal years from FY2000 to FY2035
