Prospect/Referrals

Prospects who have been referred by a provider or volunteer should have the referral tracked as an interaction.  When this is entered correctly, the interaction will appear on the prospects Referrals Subtab found under the Prospect Tab for the constituent.

Referral interactions may be entered as an interaction on the referred constituent, or on the referring provider or volunteer’s record with each referred constituent added as a participant.  With either data entry method, the provider or volunteer who provided the referral is added as an interaction attribute.

Good to Know!

  • Referrals are added initially as pending, but after review the interaction can be changed to completed or declined as appropriate.  You can also set it to completed by adding an actual date and changing the interaction status.
  • Check out the Fundraiser/Referral area for a provider or volunteer to see a list of prospects they have referred.

How Do I?

  • Add referrals?  You can add a referral right from the Prospect/Referrals tab.  Referral entry is a two-step process:
    • Add the referral on the referred constituent.  Select the correct contact method and subcategory.  Other constituents to be included in this referral should be added as participants.

    • Add the “Referred By” attribute to link this referral to a specific provider or volunteer.
