Non-charitable Event Registration Designations

Standard CRM functionality does not populate the Designation field on the non-charitable Event Fee portion of a revenue transaction. This means that event fees are not included in revenue totals or reports that are based on the designation.  

Since MGB affiliates report on the entirety of a gift transaction – charitable and non-charitable – any queries or reports that pull or group gifts by designation should include entire transactions. This customization is to set the Designation on where standard CRM functionality would leave it blank. 

This feature has been implemented as a Batch extension and is invisible to users in Batch, but is visible in a number of areas in the UI, including on the Transaction details tab. Transactions that in standard CRM look like this….

How Do I?

  • Save and Edit a Batch template to make an extension work? Go to Batch Templates, click on Edit; the Edit batch template window will open – you don’t need to make any changes, just click on Save.
