IHP Alumni Engagement Score  

Creates a model score to show the level of alumni engagement with IHP in 4 key areas:  Philanthropic, Communication, Experiential and Volunteer 

Score calculation: 

  • Score is calculated with a global change scheduled nightly.   

  • The global change runs on a predefined selection based on an ad hoc query, so all constituents to be evalutated must exist in this selection 

  • Procedure itself is: PHS_USP_ALUMNIENGAGEMENTSCORE_A 

  • Scores are calculated on a fiscal year basis 

  • The current and prior fiscal year scores are calculated daily, prior year because sometimes event lists or other data that affects the score is added after the fiscal year end. 

  • The overall score consists of 4 parts:  Philanthropic, Communication, Experiential and Volunteer.  If the constituent meets the criteria in a fiscal year they receive a score of 1 in the appropriate category.  So in any given FY a constituent can have a score of 0 to 4. 

  • One model score/rating is created nightly that shows the overall score (0-4).  In the comments you can see each of the individual component scores separated by a “|”.   

 

Score components: 

Philanthropic Score 

  • Made a commitment (gift or pledge) of any amount in the fiscal year 

Communication Score 

  • Class Notes 

  • Constituent note with type “IHP Alumni Class Notes” 

  • Date note was entered determines the fiscal year 

  • Interactions 

  • Completed interaction with ‘Contact Report’ in the interaction category or subcategory 

  • Interaction date determines the fiscal Year 

  • Surveys 

  • Survey type: ‘Alumni Business Directory’, ‘Alumni Relations Formstack’, ‘Award Nomination’, ‘Student/Program Survey’ 

  • Survey response date determines the fiscal year 

 

 

Experiential Score 

  • Events 

  • Registered and attended an event 

  • Event start date is in the fiscal year, and event must have an event attribute ‘Fundraising Event?’ = “No” 

  • Award Recepient 

  • Has education involvement with award type  of ‘Alumni Award’, ‘Faculty Award’ or ‘Preceptor Award’ 

  • The year of the award (date from) is the same as the fiscal year (done because on the years are available for many of the awards) 

  • Long Surveys 

  • Response date of the survey determines the fiscal year 

  • Survey category code one of: ‘Academic Program Outcomes Survey’, ‘Alumni Survey’ 
         

Volunteer Score 

  • Event volunteers 

  • Any event where the event name does not contain “marathon”  

  • Event start date determines the fiscal year 

  • Event attendee 

  • Event participation code other than “Invitee” or “Guest” 

  • Group Member 

  • Member of a group 

  • Either the date from or the date to must be in the fiscal year 

  • Volunteers 

  • Volunteer time sheet dates determine this fiscal year
