When a Primary phone number is marked invalid and/or the Do not call this phone number checkbox is checked, the ability to contact the donor by phone is lost unless a user manually marks another email address as Primary.
This global change identifies records where the Primary phone number is marked Do not phone, evaluates other existing phone numbers to determine if another could be marked Primary and sets that as the Primary.
When executed, the process will identify any records where the current Primary phone number meets one of the following criteria:
- The Do not call this phone number checkbox is checked
- The Phone Type is not on the list of Qualifying phone types
The process will then evaluate any other email addresses on the constituent’s record. If another email meets both of the following criteria, it should be marked as the primary email address:
- The Do not call this phone number checkbox is not checked
- The Phone Type exists in the list of Qualifying phone types
The list of qualifying phone types is in priority order; if more than one additional phone numbers meets the requirements to be considered Primary, the process would select the phone type listed first in the parameter selection. If multiple additional phone numbers qualify, the phone number with the most recent start date will be selected. If Start Date is blank on all the records, the process would select the most recently added qualifying phone number.
If the constituent has no other qualifying phone numbers on their record, the process will make no updates at all.
