Global Change/Delete BVDL Staging Data

The Delete BVDL Staging Data Global Change can be used to delete BVDL Staging Data that is no longer needed, either for a specific date range or by age. It can also be used to delete staging data for a specific import or select imports.

The parameters are

  • Delete staging data older than Enter a numeric value and select an interval from the drop-down list (day(s), week(s), month(s) or year(s)). For instance, in the example above, staging data older than 6 months will be deleted.
  • Use specific dates. Check this box to enable the Start date and End date fields and delete staging data for a specific date range. (When this box is checked, the delete staging data older than option above it is disabled.)
  • For
    • All imports. By default, the global change will delete staging data for all imports that meet the date range criteria defined above.
    • Specific import. Choose a specific import job from the drop-down list. The global change will delete all staging data for that import that meet the date range criteria defined above.
    • Selected imports. Create a BVDL selection for one or more specific import instances, and use the Selection search to find that selection. The global change will delete all staging data for those instances that meet the date range criteria defined above.

 

Good to Know!

  • The specific import and selected imports parameters work in conjunction with the date parameters; only staging records that match all criteria will be deleted.
  • The date parameters rely on the dateadded field in the staging tables, which contains a timestamp; to delete records for a specific day, set the start date to that day and the end date to the following day. For instance, to delete records for 9/1/2021, set Start Date = 9/1/2021 and End Date = 9/2/2021.
  • This global change type was introduced with BrightVine Data 4 and will be maintained by BrightVine.
