The EPIC Hospitals codes table includes a row for all hospitals included in the Epic visits files.
The fields include
- Abbreviation
- Description The full hospital name.
- Import Abbreviation for affiliate The abbreviation included in the EPIC import files.
- Lookup type for hospital MRN The Alternate Lookup ID referencing the patient’s affiliate MRN; this is included in the Epic import files (ENTITY_MRN) and will be used to match to constituent records during the import process.
- Update biographical data Check this box to import biographical data, such as address and email.

- Process PCPs Each row in the Epic visits files may contain a PCP name and sometimes other identifying information. Check this box to create constituent records in Atlas from this data.
- Display private encounters By Default, Epic visits are considered confidential if (1) the PHS Type field equals “confidential” or (2) any one of the associated encounters is marked “private”. Check this box to override this setting; BVDL will only set the visit confidential flag if PHS Type equals “confidential” and will not consider the encounter privacy setting at all.
