The standard Fundraising purpose financial info batch template does not include the Designation ID – only the fundraising purpose name. This makes it difficult to use this batch template to import data from Vision.
This batch template has been extended to include Designation ID.
To use this feature:
First, produce your data file as you normally would and in addition to your normal edits, add a blank column.
For this example, we have taken the output from the standard Endowment Detail – V215 report and added three columns:
- Start Date – the value for this is set to the last day of the reporting period month
- End Date – the value for this is set to the last day of the reporting period month
- BLANK COLUMN
Second, Edit the Fundraising Purpose Financial Info Batch template
This batch template now includes Purpose lookup ID listed as one of the available fields. Click on Purpose lookup ID to highlight it in the Available field options column and hit the right arrow to include it in the list of Selected fields.
Use the up and down arrows to position the field where you want it.
Next, add an Import Job using the OOB import tool (Administration > Import)
Select the Fundraising Purpose Financial Info template:
Map your fields:
- Map the blank column that you added to your data file to the Fundraising Purpose column.
- Map the column that includes the Lookup ID to the Purpose lookup ID column
- Other columns should follow your normal mapping.
Good to Know!
- Add short bullets for important info about this area, conversion info, entry info, etc
How Do I?
- links to other areas, longer blurbs
