Ad Hoc Queries
- Ad hoc queries are similar to queries in RE. The can be run off the Atlas data, or from the data warehouse.
- Multiple Tributes and Tribute Amounts – in RE the full amount of the gift is associated with each tributee, in CRM the tributees split up the total gift amount, for example a $50 gift with 2 tributes would split $25 to each tribute. To be consistent with RE reporting, reports showing tribute data should show the full amount of the gift, not the tribute amount.
- Matching gift claims do not have appeals in CRM, so reports that need to include matching claims based on appeal will need to pull the appeal on the originating gift.
- If you want to include to exclude constituents based on solicit codes, which happens much of the time, you want to be sure to select the “Solicit code record” and not “Name”. That way to you get to search for a code instead of having to copy and paste it in from the code table. Also, there is a solicit code and solicit code (custom) query node. Not sure why we have both and will address that at another time, but the difference is that the custom one has the longer comment – if you are selecting on solicit code record there is no difference.
- Age queries- if birthdate is blank, age is 0 rather than blank.
- Constituency – because Atlas has constituencies that it calculates on the fly, if you do a query and select “Constituencies” from the constituent query node it will take the time to calculate all the system constituencies which can take some time (only Affiliate Admins should have access to the real-time constituencies node). If you choose “Constituencies (Stored Values)” it will use the constituent codes as of the last time the update was run and will run much faster. For all affiliates except BWH, the constituent code stored values are updated every 30 minutes. GP Staff can manually run the refresh process “Refresh Constituencies – Daytime Processing” if necessary.
