Updated Process for Data Validation in Asana
Beginning with the next conversion pass we are changing the Asana procedures to help streamline the process and reporting of issues. Any questions/concerns please email Helen or Beth
Data Validation vs Design
- Data validation is checking that the data exists where it was programmed to go. Information about the conversion processes can be found on the Wiki, if you don’t find what you need there please ask. These issues will be reviewed by Helen, consolidated, and reported to Blackbaud as appropriate.
- Design issues are questions about why things look the way they do, and why certain decisions were made. These issues need to be reviewed by the Design Team.
New Way to Add Issues
We are finding the comments on the tasks in Asana are becoming cumbersome and issues are at risk of being lost. Therefore, we are changing our process:
- If
the tasks passes with no comments and no issues:
- Tag it Passed and complete your task (no change)
- If
you find an issue please:
- Tag it as Failed and:
- Add
a new subtask on the task and name it with a short description of
the issue.
- On the task description, please add a full description of the issue and add any attachments to the new subtask.
- assign it to Helen
- assign a tag of “Failed”
- Helen
will review the issue and tag it for Design or Conversion
- Response will be added to the subtask
- If more information is requested, the subtask will be re-assigned back to you. Once you add the information needed, assign it back to Helen.
