Affiliate Administrators can make attribute categories inactive on the Attribute Categories page. This will prevent users from adding those attributes to records.
To make one record inactive, expand it in the list builder and click on Mark inactive.

To make multiple records inactive, click on the checkboxes in the far left column, and then click on Mark inactive.
When records are already inactive, the button’s label will read Mark active; click to “reactivate” rows.

Good to Know!
- If a particular attribute has already been added to a record, a user can still edit it.
- If you attempt to inactivate an attribute category that has been added to a form (such as the Classification attribute on the Add an Organization form), or one that is already in use in a Batch Template, a Global Change Instance or a Ratings smart field calculation, you’ll get an error.
- To find other entities that reference a specific attribute, see Attribute dependencies.
